If next week is Raw’s season premiere, does that make this week’s Raw the season finale?
In need of a challenger for Seth Rollins’ Universal title for next Monday night, WWE hosted a fatal 5-way elimination match between AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, Robert Roode, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
An all-star game on paper got off to a slow start in practice. All five men started off in the ring and chaos quickly erupted. To the surprise of pretty much everyone, the first man eliminated was Ricochet.

Wow.
With three heels left in the ring, in theory, Mysterio’s night should have been toast. Instead Roode, Styles, and Nakamura couldn’t figure out that they had a clear numbers advantage.
First, Styles took out Nakamura with a Phenomenal Forearm. Mere seconds later, Roode hit a Glorious DDT on Styles for a three count. The unexpected pin by Roode got a nice little pop out of the Raw live crowd in San Francisco.
Down to Mysterio versus Roode, the Lucha Legend kicked it into another gear and took home the victory.

A 619 into a frog splash was enough to get the job done and earn Mysterio a shot at Seth Rollins.
It was only one month ago when Mysterio teased retirement and cut a really good promo. Now the ageless, former world champion has himself a Universal title match.
Next week on Raw, do fans get a clean match between Rey Mysterio and the Universal Champion? Or does The Fiend crash the party?
