The last time WWE held SummerSlam in Boston, Edge defended his WWE Championship versus John Cena in the main event.
Today (Aug. 8) WWE announced the promotion will return to the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts for four consecutive nights in August 2020.
WWE.com with all the details on SummerSlam 2020 weekend.
“As first announced in the Boston Globe, Boston will host SummerSlam Week in August 2020 with SmackDown LIVE, NXT TakeOver, SummerSlam and Monday Night Raw taking place at TD Garden over four consecutive nights.
2020 Key Dates:
Friday, Aug. 21 – SmackDown LIVE
Saturday, Aug. 22 – NXT TakeOver
Sunday, Aug. 23 – SummerSlam
Monday, Aug. 24 – Monday Night Raw”
One thing to note is next year WWE will once again move SummerSlam weekend back to a later date in August. Also travel wise, with SmackDown now on Friday nights it may be easier for fans to attend all four WWE events taking place.
Boston pro wrestling fans, who’s excited to see SummerSlam for the first time since 2006?
