Trish Stratus says SummerSlam will be her ‘final’ match

She knows retired is ‘a loose term in wrestling’, but she feels like her SummerSlam match with Charlotte Flair is a ‘real ending’.

Ahead of her SummerSlam clash with Charlotte Flair, Trish Stratus is making the media rounds. And while talking to folks like Sirius XM’s Busted Open and Entertainment Tonight Canada, the WWE Hall of Famer is repeatedly saying the match this Sunday (Aug. 11) in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena will be her last.

As she said to Dave LaGreca & Bully Ray:

“I always sort of said, you know, retired - that’s a loose term in wrestling - but I always said if there was something that was (a) challenging, (b) gonna do something for someone else, I would consider it. And of course, I love wrestling, it’s something that’s always gonna be part of me and part of my life. I watch it, I follow it, even if I don’t do it everyday. So when opportunites like this came up, it was like ‘gosh, this has to happen,’ like Charlotte and I in the ring, you couldn’t together a better... I sort of feel like this is a good final match for me, because I don’t really think that you could do anything more than this... it feels like a good ending to me - a real ending.”

And reiterated with this tweet while leaving her interview with ET:

As Stratus herself admits, wrestling is a “never say never” business. And with WWE’s deep pockets these days, she might be offered some big paydays for matches with the likes of Becky Lynch or Sasha Banks.

Is this our last chance for Stratusfaction? Let us know what you think, Cagesiders.
