Update: Or maybe not.
Never say never in pro wrestling.
Here is a report many in the pro wrestling world never thought would see the light of day. WWE is interested in bringing back both Enzo Amore and Big Cass to the company.
With NXT becoming WWE’s third weekly live television brand, stacking the roster with even more free agents looks to be a real strategy for the biggest pro wrestling promotion on Earth.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and encouraged) Dave Meltzer reports on WWE talking to Enzo and Cass.
“WWE has been in contact with Enzo and Cass about a surprise return to be top stars on the NXT brand.”
Not only a return to NXT for the realest guys in the room, but to have them featured as top stars as well? Wow.
The report goes on to mention WWE would like to bring back the tag team as soon as NXT’s live television debut on Wednesday Sept. 18.
When pro wrestling fans last heard from Enzo Amore he was attempting to fist fight Joey Janela outside a Blink 182/Lil Wayne concert. Enzo also attempted to book his first in-ring action in over a year when he was set to participate at a Northeast Wrestling show in August.
For the past couple of months Big Cass has been raising awareness about his own battles with drinking and depression. In a lengthy sit down interview, Cass did mention he felt he left WWE on good terms and how the door was left open for a possible return.
The world is all about second chances. If given the opportunity, how will Enzo Amore and Big Cass handle their second run with NXT?
