Kevin Owens has a great explanation for not pinning Elias for the 24/7 title

Your occasional reminder Kevin Owens is very good at this whole pro wrestling thing, as he offers a logical explanation for why he chose to not become 24/7 champion on SmackDown last night (Aug. 27) in a way that not only doesn’t make light of the belt, but subtly encourages fans to check out Drake Maverick & R-Truth’s work getting WWE newest title over.

“I had Elias down, obviously, but first, there was no referee with me. I didn’t think I had to bring in referee, but - gotta be honest with you, I got a lot going on right now. Dealing with the Shane McMahon thing, tonight was more about getting a little bit of retribution on Elias for the King of the Ring.

But also, I’ve gotta be honest, you know I’ve got two kids, I’ve got a wife, a family I try to take care of as good as I can, I’ve got three dogs, three cats, I’ve got a lot on my plate. I don’t need to be walking around on my days off, guys trying to school boy me left and right on the street when I’m dropping my kids - I can’t deal with that. I can’t deal with that. Maybe at some point, I’ll be ready, but right now I just have too much on my plate. So while I appreciate everyone telling me to do it, pin him for the 24/7 title, it just wasn’t right for me.

But hey, congratulations on the championship R-Truth - oh wait it was Drake. R-Truth? Drake? R-Tru... are you sure R-Truth hasn’t won it back since that happened about 10 minutes ago? I’m gonna go check.”

Take it from me. Cats are a lot of work. You can’t be looking over your shoulder for a guy in a dog costume & Jason Ayers while you’re cleaning the litter box.

Also? KO is good at this whole pro wrestling thing.
