Clash of Champions gets a Kickoff match

Yeah, we’re gonna keep running with that joke/prediction.

WWE.com

Humberto Carrillo and Oney Lorcan were the survivors of the five-on-five Captain’s Challenge match on the Aug. 20 episode of 205 Live. So on last night’s edition of the show, the pair faced off for the right to challenge Cruiserweight champ Drew Gulak at Clash of Champions in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 15.

The high-flying Mexican youngster pulled out a big win:

Now, he’ll head into a clash with his man who tried to “mentor” him when he first joined the purple brand. The relationship between fka Ultimo Ninja and the Philadelphia Stretcher include a singles win for Carrillo, but that was before Drew got serious and won the strap.

Here’s the line-up for CoC which is set to feature all of WWE’s main roster titles but, headline joke/predictions aside, does not have a confirmed Kickoff match yet:

  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Braun Strowman for the Universal championship
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley (c) for the SmackDown Women’s title
  • Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode for the Raw Tag Team championship
  • Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston (c) for the WWE title
  • Drew Gulak (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo for the Cruiserweight championship
