WWE 205 Live returns to WWE Network tonight (Aug. 20, 2019), live on Tuesday nights, with a show from Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Advertised for tonight: Nothing, until late in the afternoon. Then, via Twitter, a match between Kalisto and Ariya Daivari. And probably some fallout from Team Lorcan’s win in last week’s Captain’s Challenge, and maybe even Cruiserweight champion Drew Gulak holding onto his belt at Evolve 134 on Sunday night.
Come right back here at 10 p.m. ET. We’ll update all the results from 205 Live live as it airs on WWE Network below the line.
Enjoy the show!
- The show opens with a recap of last week’s Captain’s Challenge match.
- Cut to Drake Maverick congratulating Oney Lorcan and Humberto Carrillo for surviving the match. Oney wants Drew Gulak again, but the problem is both Humberto and Oney have a victory over the champion now. Carrillo suggests a three-way, but Drake instead books a #1 contender’s match for tonight.
- Ariya Daivari over Kalisto by pinfall with the Pepsi Twist.
- Post-match, Daivari goes to put boots to Kalisto but the rest of Lucha House Party makes the save.
- Singh Brothers get a promo.
- Humberto Carrillo over Oney Lorcan by pinfall with the corkscrew senton to become #1 contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Clash of Champions.
- As Carrillo celebrates, Drew Gulak appears on the tron to give him a slow clap. He talks about Humberto’s journey from his pupil all the way to beating Oney Lorcan before closing with the notion that if change is the rule, then he is the law!
