This is interesting...
Other than having kick ass matches (like always), the Swiss Superman hasn’t featured in Raw or SmackDown’s plans much since injuries allegedly forced Sheamus out of active duty. Using a main roster wrestler for star power on a TakeOver is a smart play, and one NXT UK’s done before with Finn Bálor at January’s Blackpool show.
And, as Progress’ Glenn Joseph points out, Cesaro has a friend who calls NXT UK home these days...

Could we get a reunion of Kings of Wrestling, the tag team Cesaro (working under his real name, Claudio Castagnoli) and Kassius Ohno (as Chris Hero) operated as back in the aughts, winning Ring of Honor, Chikara, and CZW gold in the process? They reunited at a NXT house show last year. And Joseph might have some inside info here. He does have a say as a NXT UK producer, after all.
There’s a former United Kingdom champion (who’s supposed to be with the Florida-based show now, but the Welsh might be getting all kinds of surprises, I guess) who’s ready to greet Cesaro. And the Bruiserweight’s British Strong Style mate Trent Seven isn’t booked for the card - and has probably been away selling his beating at the hands of current UK champ WALTER long enough...

And hey, Imperium’s head man himself says he welcomes a shot from the Cyborg after he’s done with Tyler Bate. Or maybe he’s offering a broken s t r o n g b o i up to the Swissman? I can’t tell.
Fantasy booking dream matches aside, could Cesaro become a familiar face in WWE’s newest brand? With the move of NXT to USA, we’re already expecting more established Raw and SmackDown acts on the main black-and-gold show. Maybe the six-time main roster tag champ could be used to help establish the UK show as NXT’s replacement on WWE Network.
We’ll start by seeing what he does on Sat., Aug 31 at TakeOver: Cardiff, I guess.
Will Kings Reign Supreme?
