The good news? That this in-story update on Xavier Woods condition from WWE.com is the only one we’ve heard since the initial report after Dash Wilder smashed Woods’ leg on Raw this past Monday (Aug. 19) probably ensures the injury as kayfabe.
Well, that and that they remembered to explain why he’s still making UpUpDownDown and doing appearances and stuff:
“Xavier Woods was evaluated at a medical facility in St. Paul following the attack. He is not cleared to compete, but the SmackDown Tag Team Champion is able to travel and fulfill his media obligations.”
The bad news, at least for Kofi Kingston? This leaves his team down a man in their ongoing battle with Randy Orton & The Revival. It might also leave the WWE Champ needing to pull double duty at Clash of Champions if X can’t defend the SmackDown Tag titles with Big E on Sept. 15.
Stay tuned.
