I love when WWE actually uses logic in its stories, with characters generally doing what you would expect any human of even average intelligence to do in any given situation. Here, we get a small taste of that, except for the big glaring error that shows, well, it’s actually incredibly dumb.
Elias is 24/7 champion, and therefore constantly on the run. The idea that he would stop doing live musical performances — where he’s constantly interrupted even without a title he’s tasked with defending day and night — makes sense. That he would give one final performance before implementing that plan is counterproductive to the plan itself.
There’s a certain entertainment in a heel being so close to the smart play before interrupting it with stunning stupidity, though. Let’s enjoy the show this evening then, shall we?
