We knew the King of the Ring tournament would kick off on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, and we even knew the bracket with all the first round match-ups, we just didn’t know when those match-ups would take place.
Now we do.
Or at least a few.
Indeed, WWE announced initial matches just today, revealing the following:
- Cesaro vs. Samoa Joe on Raw
- Cedric Alexander vs. Sami Zayn on Raw
- Kevin Owens vs. Elias on SmackDown
- Apollo vs. Andrade
That’s really only one heat match (Owens vs. Elias), which still has the potential to be great. The other three should be balls to the wall fun. The simple fact that they’re are stakes at play adds to the matches in a way we’re not used to seeing on weekly WWE television.
It’s almost time to get underway.
