Amazingly, Roman Reigns not only didn’t have a match at SummerSlam, but the Big Dog didn’t even appear on WWE’s Aug. 11 pay-per-view (PPV). We got a video package on his mystery attacker, and Rowan wrecked Buddy Murphy for snitching during his match on the Kickoff to advance that story a bit. But Reigns himself never graced our screens during the five-and-a-half hours WWE broadcast from Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena yesterday.
While you try to wrap your head around the fact a guy who was all over the posters for SummerSlam, and advertising for SmackDown’s premiere on Fox in October, was left off a “Big 4” show, here’s Murphy and Roman setting up a match on tomorrow night’s edition of the blue brand...
Not about holding anyone down, I’m all about seeing if people want to step up. Consider this me accepting your challenge. See you tomorrow night on #SDLive, Buddy. @WWE https://t.co/2N6ZSvySxw

Not sure why Buddy’s not calling out the guy who actually attacked him last night, but whatevs.
Like the Drew McIntyre/Cedric Alexander match WWE announced for Raw this afternoon, Reigns/Murphy was reportedly considered for SummerSlam at one point. In both cases, the wrestlers may get more time on television than they would have on PPV, so this will hopefully be a win all around.
