Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Where there’s pyro, there’s Goldberg.
After several weeks of Dolph Ziggler working his name into promos, at least a half dozen times, a new report suggests Goldberg will return to WWE for a match at SummerSlam.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports he received a phone call from WWE about a Ziggler versus Goldberg match at SummerSlam.
“So thank you to these idiots because I got a call from someone in WWE who was talking to me about ‘How did you know that it was Bill Goldberg?’ And I said, ‘I didn’t know it was Bill Goldberg.’ They didn’t realize that I said I didn’t know because all these people had said that I said it when I never said it in the first place. So in fact, it is Bill Goldberg and that’s how I found out. Isn’t that wonderful?”
Meltzer continued:
“Even though they announced Miz, and I don’t know how they are going to get to it, it is in fact Dolph Ziggler and Bill Goldberg.”
For fans clamoring for the already announced Miz versus Ziggler match, sorry.
When fans last saw Goldberg, he was losing a very bad match to Undertaker in Saudi Arabia. During the match Goldberg claimed he knocked himself out, which may help explain why the match played out the way it did.
Excited for Goldberg to probably squash Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam?
