He’s never held a singles title and has spent the past few WrestleManias in programs that weren’t exactly Rock vs. Austin caliber. Regardless, Braun Strowman re-upped for five more years with WWE recently. That’s because, as he tells Sports Illustrated, he’s in it for “the long haul”.
Strowman plans to be a multiple time World champ before he calls it quits. The rest of his run will also involve re-framing his legacy on WWE’s grandest stage of them all. He’s even booked his first ‘Mania main event:
“I will main event WrestleMania. Hopefully more than once on my way to a Hall of Fame career.
I’ll start with a main event against Drew McIntyre. And I’ll tell you who will win: me.”
Recently, the Monster Among Men’s career seems to be headed back in the direction it was in before losses to Brock Lesnar left him teaming with pre-teens. If WWE is invested in making him their next larger-than-life main eventer, these predictions may yet become a reality.
Given McIntyre’s recent track record on pay-per-view (PPV), he’s at least picked the right opponent for WrestleMania 36.
