NXT UK books TakeOver: Cardiff’s main event

WWE.com

We haven’t seen the first man to hold WWE’s United Kingdom championship since the current one slammed him back-first into the ring apron and post four weeks back. Tyler Bate’s Moustache Mountain tag partner Trent Seven tried to get revenge, but with the b i g s t r o n g b o i out “injured”, and their British Strong Style stablemate Pete Dunne on an excursion to the Florida territory, Seven was outnumbered by WALTER and his Imperium faction.

With NXT UK’s second ever live WWE Network event, TakeOver: Cardiff, coming up in a month, someone had to step to the Ring General and try to break Imperium’s stranglehold on the UK title scene.

LOOK EVERYONE! IT’S TYLER! Okay... different Tyler, but, with WALTER telling General Manager Johnny Saint and his assistant Sid Scala he’d cleared out the division, Bate returned to say nay, with his fists:

Once order was restored, Scala booked the match. And we now have two official bouts for the afternoon (here in the States) of Sat., Aug. 31:

  • WALTER (c) vs. Tyler Bate for the United Kingdom championship
  • Kay Lee Ray vs. Toni Storm (c) for NXT UK Women’s title

Gallus’ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang also called out tag champs Grizzled Young Veterans after their win today.

That’s what the spoiler-free among us know is coming our way from Wales in 30 days time. Enough to get you to tune in?
