Stone Cold on why he & Kevin Owens didn’t cross paths at Raw Reunion

WWE.com

All fans wanted was a fist bump or a causal “sup”.

Last Monday night, Stone Cold’s appearance in the main event of Raw Reunion was the highlight of the night. Even in real time, Steve Austin was great, but he never got to interact with any current WWE stars during his Raw appearance.

A vocal fan of Kevin Owens, it came as a surprise to many that KO and the Texas Rattlesnake didn’t have a moment together at Raw Reunion.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Stone Cold explains why he and Owens didn't have any kind of interaction at Raw Reunion.

“With Kevin Owens, don’t throw my name on there. This guy can talk a lot of trash, he is great in the ring, and he’s using my finisher, but hell, no one is going to be the next Steve Austin.

I remember when people were saying I was going to be the next Ric Flair when I was in WCW. No one’s ever going to be the next Ric Flair, and you’re not going to see the next Hulk Hogan or the next Bret Hart, either. It just doesn’t happen that way. People like to say that because of the similarities, but what we should be saying is, ‘I want this guy to be the next big thing.’”

That makes sense, but still couldn’t WWE have given fans Stone Cold tossing Kevin Owens a can of Broken Skull IPA? A hug? High five? Firm handshake?

Still feels like a missed opportunity for all parties involved, but oh well.
