The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the SummerSlam show set to take place on Sun., Aug. 11, 2019, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This will mark the first time the company has held the event here since 2004.
We’re just two weeks from showtime and the card looks like this:
- Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins (Universal championship)
WWE held a 10-man battle royal with the promise that the winner would get this match. Rollins, obviously, was that winner.
- Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton (WWE championship)
Kingston is still upset over how Orton treated him many years ago while he was coming up. Now, he gets payback.
- Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon
Owens has said that he will quit if he cannot win this match.
- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya (Raw women’s championship)
Natalya won a Fatal 4-Way elimination match to become top contender.
- Bayley (c) vs. Ember Moon (SmackDown women’s championship)
This match came about when Bayley just sort of decided to give Moon a chance to win the strap after Ember chose her as a tag team partner in her ongoing feud with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
- Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt
The Fiend targeted Balor first in his return, so they’ll wrestle here.
Other matches rumored to be in the works include Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali for the Intercontinental championship, and The IIconics vs. The Kabuki Warriors vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville.
