WWE’s bringing in Jerry Lawler to start the build toward Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair

In news last week which was technically a spoiler but that was reported widely anyway, it looks like we’re headed toward Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus at SummerSlam in Toronto next month.

It’s a match that pretty much sells itself. Hall of Famer who is in the conversation for GOAT status against eight-time champion WWE seems to want to become the answer to the GOAT debate. Flair started calling herself the Queen of All Eras, Stratus will say, “um, excuse me?” and they’ll fight.

And it looks like WWE’s decided how they’ll engineer Trish saying “um, excuse me?” It’s a choice that many will dislike, but that is evocative of Stratus’ era.

Let’s just hope Jerry Lawler doesn’t scream “PUPPIES” at any point while Trish is his guest on King’s Court on SmackDown next week...

See it go down Tues., July 30.
