This fits with what we saw on SmackDown last night (July 23) for Charlotte Flair, who said it’s a disgrace she isn’t booked for SummerSlam, and vowed to have a more impressive opponent in Toronto than Ember Moon who she would defeat to cement herself as the greatest of all time. Charlotte has started referring to herself as “The Queen of All Eras” on social media.
Connecting those dots, notably the one where WWE’s big pay-per-view (PPV) on Aug. 11 is in Canada’s biggest city, which also happens to be the hometown of one of the most popular female wrestlers in history, and someone who just returned for Evolution last fall...
Still haven’t figured it out? Okay, I’ll just come out and tell you. Pro Wrestling Sheet says Trish Stratus is in talks to face Flair in Scotiabank Arena next month.
In addition to being a cool match that keeps Charlotte out of the title scenes while still building her legacy, it would also mean there would be three women’s singles on the SummerSlam card.
Like it?
UPDATE: John Pollock at Post Wrestling says he’s confirmed the match with WWE sources, and Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair is happening Sun., Aug. 11 at SummerSlam in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.
