Raw guest stars to defend their titles at TakeOver: Toronto

WWE.com

WWE is obviously pretty high on Street Profits. The duo debuted on Raw earlier this month, and have been fixtures of the show in the Paul Heyman era. They don’t wrestle, though. Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins instead serve as hype man, excitedly and entertainingly discussing what’s going on or coming up on the show in backstage segments.

Shortly after their first appearance on the July 1 show, word hit that this wasn’t a call-up. Which is good, because Street Profits are the reigning NXT Tag Team champs. And their next big title defense was already set-up at the black-and-gold brand’s June tapings.

The episodes which established Tez & Angelo’s showdown with one of the teams Street Profits defeated to win the titles at TakeOver: XXV’s ladder match - Undisputed ERA’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish - aired on the last couple of Wednesdays. So WWE decided to go ahead and make their match official today.

Will the Profits retain their belts and stick around NXT for a while longer? Or will O’Reilly & Fish become two-time tag champs (and KOR a three-timer) on what could be a big night for Undisputed* as Ford & Dawkins move to Mondays full-time?

We’ll find out.

* This is the second match officially booked for Sat., Aug. 10 in Scotiabank Arena. The ERA’s Adam Cole will defend his NXT title in a Three Stages of Hell match against Johnny Gargano.
