WWE SummerSlam 2019 match card, rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the SummerSlam show set to take place on Sun., Aug. 11, 2019, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This will mark the first time the company has held the event here since 2004.

We’re just a couple weeks from showtime and the card looks like this:

  • Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins (Universal championship)

WWE held a 10-man battle royal with the promise that the winner would get this match. Rollins, obviously, was that winner.

  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya (Raw women’s championship)

Natalya won a Fatal 4-Way elimination match to become top contender.

  • Bayley (c) vs. Ember Moon (SmackDown women’s championship)

This match came about when Bayley just sort of decided to give Moon a chance to win the strap after Ember chose her as a tag team partner in her ongoing feud with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

Other matches rumored to be in the works include Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon, Kofi Kingston defending the WWE championship against Randy Orton, Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt, The New Day vs. Samoa Joe & Elias for the SmackDown tag team titles, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali for the Intercontinental championship, and The IIconics vs. The Kabuki Warriors.
