Well, this seems strange.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there was a time not that long ago that Undertaker was advertised to wrestle Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam next month in Toronto but that is no longer the case. He notes that could change over the next month, of course, but “they have a line-up for the show, and he’s not on it.”
The reason that seems so strange is he just worked a tag team match alongside Roman Reigns against Shane McMahon & McIntyre at Extreme Rules. Why have him return to work the smaller pay-per-view just one month before the much bigger pay-per-view?
And he looked amazing in what may have been the best match of the entire show!
He did endorse Reigns on the way out, so perhaps they simply wanted to get that moment in and couldn’t fit it on the card at SummerSlam. Still, it seems bizarre that Undertaker will have missed both WrestleMania and SummerSlam this year but wrestled at the Saudi Arabia show and Extreme Rules.
