WWE SmackDown Live ratings (July 16, 2019): Big ups

It took a couple weeks for Raw’s uptick in viewers to carry over, and the Executive Director news to kick in. Being the first episode after a well-received pay-per-view (PPV) in Extreme Rules surely helped. There wasn’t live sports competition like last week, when SmackDown went up against Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game. And that WWE is delivering a remix of their greatest hit - anti-hero vs. McMahon - that fans seem to not only be accepting, but enjoying, can’t be ignored as a factor here, either.

Whatever you attribute it to, the fact is the blue brand’s audience was way up on July 16. 2,122,000 viewers was not only an increase of approximately 269K over the week prior, it was WWE’s best Tuesday night number since the Superstar Shake-up back in April. SmackDown was the eighth most watched cable original on the night, trailing only political talk from Fox News and MSNBC .

The rating for the 18-49 year old audience was also up big, hitting a night-winning .65 - the best number SmackDown’s had since May.
