Daniel Bryan’s ‘career-altering announcement’ never came

WWE.com

WWE’s habit of advertising matches or promos or segments that never end up happening continued on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live from Worcester.

When WWE.com’s official preview for the show was published early this morning, it made mention of Daniel Bryan making what they called a “career-altering announcement.” No hint was given as to what said announcement would be, though we seemed to get something of a teaser in the promo Bryan cut following Extreme Rules, where he lost the SmackDown tag team titles, when he said “I know exactly what I need to do.”

Instead, he acted like he was going to say something, stormed off, repeated that, and did it once more before disappearing for good. The New Day mentioned a rematch for the titles but that never happened either.

There remains no hint regarding exactly what this announcement was supposed to be. It’s worth noting he was originally advertised for the battle royal on Monday Night Raw this week but was ultimately replaced by Sami Zayn.

We’ll just have to stay tuned, I guess.
