Bayley is still your SmackDown women’s champion.
The story coming into tonight’s (Sun., July 14, 2019) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was all about Nikki Cross doing her best to help Alexa Bliss win that same title. She won her way into a 2-on-1 handicap match in an attempt to be co-champions and then, well, Bayley just beat them.
Both.
Clean.
The match didn’t feature any shenanigans, not even a tease of a disqualification, or cheating, or anything of the sort. Bayley was just better, and she won the match because of it.
Of course, it was Nikki who took the pin. But they didn’t even tease Alexa turning on her after the match, instead fading out of the segment with the two holding onto each other looking disappointed.
We’ll just have to stay tuned to see the next chapter.
