Seth Rollins calls Jon Jones a chump, while Becky Lynch eyes the UFC

WWE was out in full force at the ESPY’s last night in Los Angeles.

After Roman Reigns walked away with the award for best WWE Moment of the year, a trail of WWE personalities made their way down the red carpet. WWE’s current power couple of Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins were in attendance, with both making waves with some timely quotes.

Speaking with ESPN at the ESPY Awards, both Rollins and Lynch were asked about MMA.

When asked about UFC heavyweight champion and longtime WWE fan Daniel Cormier, Rollins said:

“Look heavyweight champion and rightful light heavyweight champion as well. Jon Jones is a chump man. He’s a chump. That’s a shoot.”

Interesting.

In the final question of the red carpet interview, Lynch was asked about the statement given by MMA trainer/longtime coach of Conor McGregor John Kavanagh. The SG Ireland coach stated that if given a year, he could turn Lynch into a pro MMA fighter.

“Absolutely. Damn right he can. 100 percent. I don’t quit and if it’s one thing that I learned fighting with Ronda Rousey is that I can take quite the beating. But I always get back up again. Until I win the big one.”

Lynch continued:

“Wouldn’t I? What wouldn’t I do? I’m unpredictable. Somebody tell me I can’t do it, I’ll do it. I’ll be in there next week. Dana White, what’s up?”

In MMA, fighters generally bring up moving over to pro wrestling or boxing as a negotiation tactic to get more money out of a promotion. This felt more like playful banter from The Man and The Beast Slayer.

Tongue firmly in cheek, it doesn’t look like pro wrestling fans have to worry about losing Seth Rollins or Becky Lynch to the world of MMA.

Would she?
