There’s been a lot of speculation and rumor about what Alexa Bliss and Natalya might be doing at June 7’s Super ShowDown pay-per-view (PPV) in Jeddah.
The two women’s wrestlers made the trip to Saudi Arabia despite the Kingdom having a prohibition on women wrestling. Reports have varied from the former Women’s champions being there in hopes a match will be approved for today’s show, or for a surprise match on Friday at King Abdullah International Stadium, or to announce a future match.
We’ll find out about those things in a few hours. But what we do now is that Alexa & Natty accompanied several male Superstars on their public relations visit to a children’s hospital in Jeddah before the PPV. Because WWE is tweeting about it:
Everything but Bliss and Natalya’s faces and hands are covered up in the manner Saudi law requires visiting women to be. The garments they’re wearing at the hospital appear to be slightly more traditional than what Renee Young was shown wearing ringside while providing commentary for Crown Jewel in Riyadh last fall, and are much baggier & form-concealing than the wrestling gear Alexa and Sasha Banks wore when they wrestling in another Muslim country (the more socially liberal Abu Dhabi) in 2017.
Is it a step toward women being allowed to perform in the KSA? How soon?
