Natalya & Alexa Bliss reportedly making Saudi Arabia trip... but for what?

WWE.com

Since their ten year contract to produce events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was announced last year, WWE’s public relations has pushed the idea the company could best influence the country to change by working with them. Sure, they don’t allow women in public without male guardians and being gay or trans is illegal now, but we can only help them see the benefits of extending basic rights to more humans by taking their money for sports entertainment spectacles. Or something to that effect.

It was a notion dismissed and even scoffed at by critics of WWE’s deal with the Saudi Sports Authority (this writer included). A few rumors don’t mean those critics are wrong. However...

While we’d caution against breaking out the “This is hope” chant Stephanie McMahon is so fond of telling us happened in Abu Dhabi when Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss wrestled there in 2017 just yet, the rumors are interesting. PW Insider reports Natalya is making the trip to Jeddah for Super ShowDown, and Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp says Bliss is travelling with WWE for this Friday’s pay-per-view (PPV), too.

Both also say Renee Young, who called some of the action at last fall’s Crown Jewel show in Riyadh is headed to the KSA, too.

Neither Sapp or Insider’s Mike Johnson have heard what Alexa and Nattie will be doing in Saudi Arabia, but the WrestleVotes Twitter account claims there were plans for Natalya and Nia Jax to wrestle at Super ShowDown before Jax underwent surgery to repair her knees.

Could we see a women’s match on June 7? Would that change your mind about WWE’s dealings with the Saudis?

Stay tuned.
