WWE’s not confirming or denying those Paul Heyman ads yet, but they keep adding to the advertised line-up for Raw in Dallas on Mon., July 1.
The latest addition is a Wild Card Rule-enabled tag team showdown between The New Day and Viking Raiders. Big E, Xavier Woods and WWE champ Kofi Kingston are on Raw so often you’d be forgiven if you forgot they’re technically SmackDown Superstars. Kingston’s next title defense at Extreme Rules on Sun., July 14 is against Team Red’s Samoa Joe, after all.
Facing the five-time Tag champs is a big step up in competition for Erik & Ivar, who were called up after WrestleMania 35 but disappeared from television for most of May and half of June. Since returning, they dealt with some local talent types before dispatching of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson last Monday.
Why is this match happening? Pretty much WILD CARD. Per WWE.com:
“The Wild Card rule is about to deliver for the WWE Universe yet again!
The New Day will collide with The Viking Raiders in tag team action for the first time ever this Monday night on Raw. Which two members of The New Day will square off against the gargantuan unit of Erik & Ivar in what is easily the biggest opportunity of their tenure on Raw thus far?
Find out when the massive match goes down this Monday night on Raw.”
Should be fun, even after it turns into a six-man with Samoa Joe after a five minutes and a commercial break.
