WWE Stomping Grounds results: Roman Reigns wins

Roman Reigns had a match against Drew McIntyre at tonight’s (Sun., June 23, 2019) WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view (PPV) at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, but it was really about the former wanting to get his hands on Shane McMahon, who accompanied McIntyre to the ring.

During the match, Shane took every chance he could to get involved, cheating on behalf of his lackey. He paid for it late in the match, eating two Superman punches.

The match itself was slow to get going but they grabbed the crowd late, battling back-and-forth throwing bombs at each other.

Naturally, right when Reigns had the match won with a Spear, Shane recovered from the aforementioned Superman punches to take the referee out. He followed that up with a Coast 2 Coast but McIntyre only got two on it.

You know the rest: Reigns countered the Claymore with a Superman punch, tossed Shane out of the ring when he tried to interfere right after, then hit a Spear to get the pinfall and the victory.

For whatever it’s worth, commentary tried to put over that this meant Reigns finally won the war and “rid himself of McIntyre and McMahon.”

We shall see.
