Can Becky Lynch carry Lacey Evans to an interesting match?

Lacey Evans makes her last stand at Stomping Grounds

Can you blame anyone for looking past Evans and wondering what Becky Lynch’s next feud will be?

The story so far

For fans still trying to wrap their heads around the fact that Lynch went from the main event of WrestleMania 35 right into a feud with a NXT rookie call-up, we got nothing. Lynch closed the show at WWE’s biggest event of the year, pinned Ronda Rousey, and had a title belt on each of her shoulders.

So the next obvious mountain for The Man to climb is an untested Evans? Huh? What?

Despite the Earth’s gravitational pull, and momentum nudging WWE in any other direction, Lynch and Evans have been feuding since the beginning of April.

The build to Stomping Grounds

At Money in the Bank back in May, Lynch needed a little over eight minutes before she tapped out Evans. Post-match, Evans cost Lynch her SmackDown women’s title when she landed a Women’s Right that helped Charlotte Flair secure the victory.

For the past month, the rivalry between Lynch and Evans has continued but failed to produce any show stealing moments for champ or challenger.

The go-home show

Unless Evans pulls off a huge upset and continues her push throughout the summer, this feud should come to an end tonight (Jun. 23). If Evans does not take the Raw women’s championship off Lynch, where does the main roster newb go next?

WWE must view Evans highly because they continue to put her in big spots. It would feel strange if Evans faded back into women’s mid-card purgatory after her rivalry with Lynch.

Who needs this win more at Stomping Grounds? Becky Lynch to shake the stank of a lackluster post-WrestleMania feud? Or Lacey Evans, who may need a title around her waist to avoid becoming just another face in the crowd?

Tune into cSs for full bell-to-bell coverage of Stomping Grounds today starting at 6:00 p.m. ET with the Kickoff show leading right on into the main card at 7:00 p.m. ET.
