The 24/7 champ books a match for someone else’s title at Stomping Grounds

WWE Network on Twitter

It was a big night for Drake Maverick, who used a disguise and a referee with a part-time gig to finally capture the 24/7 championship for R-Truth on SmackDown. Then he headed off for his wedding, but not before (or maybe after... pre-tapes, and all) a little business for his part-time gig as the General Manager of 205 Live.

This makes sense after the double pin at the end of the #1 contender Fatal 4Way on the June 11 episode of the purple brand, and Drew Gulak especially did a hell of a job selling it with his show-closing promo last night.

But it does make us wonder how DM will handle his dual responsibilites. Will his own roster be trying to pin him for the 24/7 belt? If he’s an active wrestler on Raw and SmackDown, and weighs less than 205 pounds, shouldn’t he be competing on the show he runs? Would that make him the Shane McMahon of 205 Live?

Ponder those questions while you look at this updated line-up for Sun., June 23 at the Tacoma Dome:

  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Baron Corbin for the Universal championship
  • Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston (c) in a steel cage match for the WWE title
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans for the Raw Women’s championship
  • Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (c) for the SmackDown Women’s title
  • Samoa Joe (c) vs. Ricochet for the United States championship
  • Heavy Machinery vs. Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) for the SmackDown Tag Team titles
  • Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
  • The New Day (Xavier Woods & Big E) vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens
  • Tony Nese (c) vs. Drew Gulak vs. Akira Tozawa for the Cruiserweight championship
