Stomping Grounds adds a tag match, but not for one of WWE’s tag titles

WWE.com

The story of The New Day and Kevin Owens stretches back to before WrestleMania, where Vince McMahon tried to give Owens a WWE title opportunity rather than have Kofi Kingston face Daniel Bryan in New Jersey.

It would continue through an (as yet unsolved in kayfabe) injury to Big E and KO joining & betraying Kingston & Xavier Woods. The story’s returned to prominence as Owens & Sami Zayn have allied themselves with Kofi’s current challenger, Dolph Ziggler. And now it’s earned them a spot on the card for Sun., June 18’s Stomping Grounds card.

A card which, as of now, doesn’t feature either the Raw or SmackDown men’s tag titles, or the Women’s tag belts. But we still have one more show from the blue brand and a few days.

Here’s the line-up for the Tacoma Dome coming out of the ‘go home’ Raw last night (June 17):

  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Baron Corbin for the Universal championship
  • Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston (c) in a steel cage match for the WWE title
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans for the Raw Women’s championship
  • Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (c) for the SmackDown Women’s title
  • Samoa Joe (c) vs. Ricochet for the United States championship
  • Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
  • The New Day (Xavier Woods & Big E) vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens
  • Tony Nese (c) vs. TBA for the Cruiserweight title
