Critical consensus seems to be that Lacey Evans isn’t ready for the spotlight WWE’s given her the past couple months. The 29 year has a compelling backstory, a great look, and all the tools needed to succeed in pro wrestling. But her brief time in the NXT mid-card may not have prepared her to play the heel in the top (only?) women’s program on Raw, especially as the first challenger to the winner of WrestleMania 35’s main event.
But if “The Lady” seems to be floundering to you and me, it apparently doesn’t look that way to Vince McMahon and WWE brass. Because Evans is once again one of their top selling points for the June 17 episode of Raw:

She’s featured prominently on their social media:

And is even the narrator and closing Superstar for this Stomping Grounds ad:
Of course, at this point WWE doesn’t really have a choice. They’ve committed to a second straight pay-per-view (PPV) with Lacey as Becky Lynch’s rival, so they may as well act like she belongs in the spot. The real test will come at and after the show in Tacoma, Washington this Sunday (June 23).
Are they so dead-set on getting Evans over as quickly as possibly they’d have her dethrone The Man? If not, do they have any plans for her on the other side of Stomping Grounds, or will she fade into the world of Main Event and house shows with the likes of Naomi, Natalya, and Sarah Logan?
We’ll see. In the meantime let us know what you think, about her current push and how far WWE might take it, below.
