While the Top Guys did successfully defend those straps at Fastlane, their reign was mostly marked by losses to a pair of singles stars just called up from NXT (Ricochet & Aleister Black). It ended at WrestleMania 35 to a Superstar who only appeared on Raw once in 2018, and his old partner who hadn’t won in over 200 matches (Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder). Then they allegedly declined to extend their contracts with WWE, and have since been booked into a program where The Usos humiliate them on television.
So, you can understand if Dawson isn’t the first guy in line to cheer on new SmackDown Tag titleholder Daniel Bryan’s vow to lead a “tag team evolution”...
