Her absence was definitely noted by fans - especially since Raw’s Women’s division needs all the multi-tool performers it can get, these days. But there hadn’t been much in the way of news about why Ruby Riott has been missing from our screens of late.
It doesn’t quite explain why she hasn’t been on television since the week of April 21 (Riott was working house shows up until WWE left the UK last week). But this announcement from WWE might explain why they haven’t featured her in any prominent programs lately, if she was working through these shoulder injuries and waiting until she got back to the States to have them repaired. That’s just a guess however, as we don’t get much information from the story itself:
Ruby Riott undergoes shoulder surgery
Raw Superstar Ruby Riott underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a bilateral injury to her right shoulder, WWE.com can confirm.
Riott will receive surgery for the same injury on her left shoulder at a later date.
Join WWE.com in wishing Ruby a speedy recovery!
Again - not a whole lot to go on there, so we’ll wait for the rumor mill to catch up with this news. In the meantime, we’ll join the company’s website in sending Riott our best wishes for a swift and complete return to health.
UPDATE: Here she is, in good spirits and rocking a sling that doesn’t say “I’ll be back in a couple weeks”...
