Daniel Bryan reportedly cleared to return, may be back in title picture

Daniel Bryan fans may now be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and encouraged), Dave Meltzer provides an update on Bryan’s health.

“We don’t know what the issue was, but Bryan was at TV on 4/30 in Columbus, OH and medically cleared and will be written back into the storylines, perhaps as soon as next week.”

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer adds some more context to the situation.

“He’ll probably get involved in the Kofi Kingston program as well. They may even switch that match to a three way. Tentatively on the European tour, they are doing a three way as the main event. So it may end up being a three way program.”

Fans have not seen Bryan since he dropped the WWE Championship to Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35. With not much to go on in terms of injury rumors, many feared the worst regarding Bryan’s status.

With Kevin Owens coming off an injury and Bryan still nursing whatever ails him, maybe a three person feud is the way to go with a healthy Kofi Kingston as the centerpiece.

Still on SmackDown, what is the best role for Daniel Bryan moving forward on the blue brand?
