WWE is calling the Saudi Arabia Super ShowDown event ‘as good or better than WrestleMania’

No, seriously.

WWE may be hyping up their June 7 Super ShowDown event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia too much.

In their most recent ad, they’re saying it is “as good or better than WrestleMania.” I get that sounds so ridiculous that you may not believe me so I’ve included the video evidence.

C’mon, now. That’s utterly ludicrous.

Sure there are some aging legends on these shows, but these are pretty much glorified house shows. Despite having almost every title defended on the shows, none have changed hands. (Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt won vacant tag titles at the Greatest Royal Rumble and Brock Lesnar won the vacant Universal title at Crown Jewel.) Even with the legends, these have been totally skippable shows so far.

Meanwhile, WrestleMania has been their biggest show for the last 35 years. The Grandest Stage of Them All. The Grand Daddy of Them All. It’s where some of their greatest moments in their history have happened. But sure, the Super ShowDown is going to be just as good if not better. It’s just an outrageous claim.

Money talks, I guess.
