The WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) tonight (Sun., May 19, 2019) at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, featured a wild 20 minute stretch for the women’s division.
Becky Lynch successfully defended her Raw women’s championship against Lacey Evans by tapping her out, and then, for whatever reason, agreed to immediately defend her SmackDown women’s championship against Charlotte Flair. Evans, still pissed at her defeat just before, interfered and helped Charlotte win the SmackDown title.
The two proceeded to beat Becky down until Bayley’s music hit and she ran in to even the odds. In the process of that, Flair was laid out by the ring post. Bayley, having just won the Money in the Bank contract earlier in the evening, decided it was the right time to cash in.
One flying elbow later and a three count later and Bayley is your new SmackDown women’s champion.
See you Tuesday, champ!
