Former WWE star, 2005 Diva Search winner Ashley Massaro dies at age 39

Sad news out of New York as former WWE wrestler Ashley Massaro died today (May 16) after being found at her Smithtown home.

The Blast were the first to report of Massaro’s passing.

“The Suffolk County Medical Examiner in New York tells The Blast, Massaro died Thursday and was brought to the medical examiner’s office.

Law enforcement sources tell us a “rescue call” came in at 5:23 AM to her home in Smithtown and was transported to a local hospital, where she passed away.

According to the dispatch audio, obtained by The Blast, officials initially responded to an unconscious female and administered CPR on the way to the hospital.”

A WWE superstar from 2005 to 2008, Massaro is perhaps best known for winning the 2005 Diva Search. At WrestleMania 23, Massaro challenged Melina for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Massaro was 39-years-old.
