WWE Raw viewers up despite taped show

WWE is overseas for its annual spring tour and that means its television is taped with spoilers available hours in advance of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live airing on the USA Network. Typically, that would mean in a downturn in viewership but that wasn’t the case for Raw this week.

Indeed, Raw drew 2.34 million viewers, up from last week’s 2.22 million. It would seem, then, that Vince McMahon’s appearance and the institution of the “Wild Card” rule had the effect the company hoped it would.

The hourly breakdown looks like usual:

Hour one: 2.57 million
Hour two: 2.39 million
Hour three: 2.08 million

Viewership is still down and there’s plenty of room to improve but at the very least this is a start in the right direction. We’re also just days out from Money in the Bank, so there should be interest in next week’s television as well.
