There was a lot of talk coming out of the finish of the WrestleMania 35 main event that there was some sort of botch involving the referee, or Ronda Rousey, or Becky Lynch. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there was no botch, and the plan was indeed for Lynch to pin Rousey to win the titles.
So there’s that.
He did say, however, that Ronda suffered an injury:
”I have some news. Ronda has a broken hand, a severely broken hand. She just was diagnosed with it.”
He would go on to say that this was scheduled to be her last match, and that’s definitely the case now that she has a broken hand she will need to get taken care of. As to whether or not she will ever return, Meltzer says there is no timeline for that.
That, of course, doesn’t mean she’s gone for good. But, at the very least, she’s gone for now.
