The Usos successfully defended their SmackDown tag team titles in a Fatal 4-Way match at tonight’s (Sun., April 7, 2019) WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view (PPV) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Sasha Banks & Bayley were hoping to do the same with the women’s tag team titles, as they were booked in the same match type against the teams of Nia Jax & Tamina Snuka, Beth Phoenix & Natalya, and The IIconics.
It would mark the first time the titles were on the line at WrestleMania since they were created just a couple months ago, so Paige was brought in to do guest commentary in place of Corey Graves.
Not unlike the men’s Fatal 4-Way, it was chaotic and featured a lot of fighting all over the place. Unlike in the men’s Fatal 4-Way however, Billie Kay was slick making the tag on Beth Phoenix just before she hit the Glam Slam on Bayley from the top rope, throwing her out of the ring and pinning Bayley to win the women’s tag team titles.
The IIconics were emotional in the ring as they celebrated their victory. For whatever it’s worth, the heel team was wildly cheered.
