WrestleMania 35 results: Carmella wins Women’s Battle Royal

The second match on the Kickoff show of tonight’s (Sun., April 7, 2019) WrestleMania 35 event from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, was the second annual WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. Unlike last year, they did not stipulate that the winner would receive a title shot.

The participants included basically every woman on the roster who didn’t have anything else to do on the show, and Candice LaRae and Kairi Sane of NXT. That included Ember Moon, who made her return from injury. For whatever reason, both Naomi and Asuka got their own entrance.

The order of elimination:

4. Naomi
5. Ember Moon
6. Lana
7. Kairi Sane
8. Ruby Riott
9. Liv Morgan
10. Zelina Vega
11. Dana Brooke
12. Mandy Rose
13. Mickie James
14. Sonya Deville
15. Asuka
16. Sarah Logan

The match was your typical battle royal, with tag teams ganging up on others, and rapid fire eliminations. The Riott Squad were aggressively bad at eliminating people. It came down to Asuka, Sarah Logan, and Sonya Deville, or at least we thought that was the case. When Logan eliminated Asuka for what looked like the win, Carmella climbed back in the ring.
