It hadn’t been announced in advance as a Kickoff match, but considering it was the last match added to the card for Sun., April 7 at MetLife Stadium, it’s not too surprising the Raw Tag title match ended up on the pre-show. And, hey, they got on the USA Network portion of the card, as The Revival’s entrance happened shortly after that broadcast started at 6PM!
The focus was on their challengers, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. Hawkins has lost 269 matches by WWE’s count, the last handful of those while teaming with his friend. But Curt changed up his gear - switching from his usual New York Mets themed outfit to one honoring the New York Jets.
Not sure repping the J-E-T-S JETSJETSJETS is the way to end a losing streak, but you have to change something up.
The challengers were fired up at the start, but Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson showed why they’re considered among the best tag teams in the world and quickly took control. They taunted their opponents as “losers” while working the heat, too.

The Iced Z was in peril for most of the match, but as a man with one underdog WrestleMania championship moment on his resume, Ryder wasn’t going to take the fall for his team. The Revival talked lots of trash to the broski, but couldn’t put him away. And when he finally flipped over Dawson for a tag, he was HOT.
The action spilled to the floor after Zack hit Dawson with a Rough Ryder, and when Hawkins took a Brain Buster on the floor, it looked like his streak would continue.
But with the crowd behind him and the Top Guy taking a little too much time, Curt got the roll-up and we have new Raw tag champs!
