Randy Orton is a terrible landlord

Singles match

AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton

Randy Orton and AJ Styles have both been members of the SmackDown roster ever since the brand split in July 2016, yet they’ve never wrestled against each other in a one-on-one match on pay-per-view. That’s going to change at WrestleMania 35 on Sun. April 7, from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The underlying story here is that Randy thinks it’s a joke that AJ refers to SmackDown as “The House That AJ Styles Built.” That bogus catchphrase is an insult to the Viper, who has been headlining pay-per-views in WWE since 2004, when Styles was working bingo halls for chump change. Randy claimed that SmackDown is, in fact, The House That Randy Orton Built.

AJ responded by saying that Randy was built for WWE, but he never would have made it on the indies with only one move and a stupid pose, and that Styles is proud of his indie roots. Also, look around the locker room, all those indie guys that Randy looks down upon have taken over the WWE roster.

At this point Randy Orton called himself the landlord and said that rent’s due, and he’s going to collect it with an RKO. AJ challenged him to a match at WrestleMania, and here we are.

This led to multiple sneak attacks from Orton over the last couple of weeks where he has showed off his questionable landlording technique by RKO-ing AJ outta nowhere, including this one from the Kevin Owens show.

Will Randy continue to be an abusive landlord, or will the Phenomenal One overcome the RKO and prove that his catchphrase is no joke?

Find out which one of these guys built the house by tuning into WrestleMania 35 and keeping it right here at Cageside Seats!
