John Cena confirms he’ll be at WrestleMania 35 but says ‘I just don’t have anything this year’

Rumors and reports continue to indicate John Cena will not only be at WrestleMania 35 this Sun., April 7, 2019, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but will have a match on the show. He confirmed the former in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet but not the latter:

“I will be at WrestleMania every year, no matter what. I just don’t have anything this year which... I’ve come to grips with that.”

He goes on to talk about all the ways in which he’s contributing to the company by participating in activities throughout the weekend, and trying to make that inspirational while connecting with those in a similiar position.

When asked about fans wanting him to work with Kurt Angle, he simply said “I do what is asked of me” and when he gets what he’s told to do he tries to “make it super special.” As for the Instagram teases, well, he’s a troll who likes to troll when it comes to that particular social media app.

Go figure.

None of this will dispel the rumors, and will likely just add to them, but at least we now have it on record that Cena will be at the show. So at least there’s that!

The full interview is well worth the time, with Cena talking about making “shitty” writing into good television, that being on the performer, and a whole lot more:
