No suprises here, as Kushida was rumored to be heading to WWE even before he said goodbye to New Japan - but now it’s official. Hours before TakeOver: New York kicks off at Barclays Center tonight (April 5), Triple H and William Regal welcomed the six-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champ to NXT.

In addition to those title runs, Kushida also won the Best of the Super Juniors tournament twice, and the Super-J Cup once. In the States, he was Ring of Honor Television champ for a few months back in 2017. He also worked as part of a popular tag team Time Splitters with Alex Shelley on both sides of the Pacific.
Worth noting that he’s being introduced as a member of the NXT roster and not WWE’s version of the Super Juniors, 205 Live.
What does the future hold for the 35 year old Japanese star? We shall see.
