Rey Mysterio shares video of injury, says he’s ‘praying to be ready for Mania’

Word is the ankle injury WWE reported yesterday (April 2) before pulling Rey Mysterio from an announced match with Andrade on SmackDown is legitimate. His scheduled match against United States champion Samoa Joe at WrestleMania 35 is up in the air, and Joe may require a new opponent (or opponents) if Rey can’t go.

Mysterio posted a slow motion video clip to his Instagram this afternoon which shows him going down after landing awkwardly on his right foot. Presumably, this is when the injury occurred.

Rey doesn’t offer much in the way of an update besides, just that he’s “praying to be ready for Mania this Sunday!”

There are plenty of folks who would make good substitutes, but there’s only one Mysterio. Here’s hoping those prayers are answered so he can perform in MetLife Stadium on Sun., April 7.
