WWE added two new matches to its upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun.., May 19, 2019, at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
First, Charlotte Flair finally got around to pointing out the obvious, that Becky Lynch didn’t actually beat her for the SmackDown women’s championship at WrestleMania 35 but instead pinned Ronda Rousey and ended up with the title. That means she deserves a chance to win it back, and she’ll get exactly that.
Hooray for WWE using logic in a story!
Next, Roman Reigns will square off with Elias, who has, for whatever reason, aligned himself with the McMahon family. He’s not exactly their new muscle, but he is a foil for Reigns as he begins his run as a member of the SmackDown roster.
It works.
The updated Money in the Bank match card:
- Seth Rollins (c) vs. AJ Styles for the Universal championship
- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown women’s championship
- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lacey Evans for the Raw women’s championship
- Roman Reigns vs. Elias
